1. Purpose of the Calendar

1.1 The Songspace calendar lists performances by Seattle-based singer-songwriters in greater-Seattle-area venues only.

The calendar is not appropriate for:

• performances by out-of-town artists
• performances outside the geographic area given above
• instrumental music
• performers who don't sing their own songs (a few covers are OK)
• dances and dance-related events
• recorded music (DJs, dance clubs, etc.)
• non-musical events
• music in which we can't hear the words

2. Registration

2.1 Only Registered Artists are allowed to post events on the Songspace calendar. Artist Registration is free and open to all singer-songwriters who meet the registration criteria for the site (and to presenters who are promoting performances by such artists). (See Provision 1, above, and Calendar Registration.)

2.2 Songspace is under no obligation to accept the registration of any person, nor to list their information on the calendar. Posting to the Songspace calendar is a privilege, which Songspace can grant, deny, or revoke at any time, at its sole discretion. (See Provision 3.4, below.)

2.3 By becoming a Registered Artist, you grant Songspace permission to publish your name and the promotional information you provide in calendar listings (and in the Artist Directory, if you have requested to be listed). Your personal information shall remain confidential. (See Privacy Policy.)

2.4 Registered Artists are prohibited from registering multiple usernames, and from allowing others to use their username and password to post events on the Songspace calendar. You are responsible for all actions taken by anyone logged into the Songspace system using your username and password.

3. Using the Calendar

3.1 All Registered Artists posting calendar listings are expected to read and follow these Terms, and the calendar instructions as listed in Using the Calendar and Posting a Calendar Listing.

3.2 Registered Artists are responsible for the accuracy of the information they enter in the calendar. Songspace is not responsible or liable for any errors or omissions in calendar listings, nor for any consequences arising from such errors.

3.3 Songspace can, at its sole discretion, delete any listings of events deemed inappropriate for the calendar. In the event your calendar listing is deleted, you will receive an email notice explaining why. You are prohibited from re-posting any listing that has been deleted, and from posting similarly inappropriate listings in the future.

3.4 Songspace can, at its sole discretion, cancel the registration of anyone deemed to be using the calendar or the site improperly. Grounds for termination include (but are not limited to): posting listings for events that have not been booked and confirmed; repeatedly posting listings for inappropriate events; repeatedly posting inaccurate or incomplete listings; posting obscene, defamatory, or otherwise offensive material; posting listings for events, persons, or venues that do not exist; posting performances by other parties without their permission; attempting to "hack" the site by accessing and/or tampering with non-public files, directories, and databases, or engaging in any other unauthorized activities; violating the intellectual property rights of Songspace, or of other parties; sharing usernames and passwords with other users.

4.1 Becoming a Registered Artist in no way establishes any partnership, joint venture, employment agreement, or other contractual or business relationship between you and Songspace beyond that described herein.

4.2 Becoming a Registered Artist and being listed in the calendar or directory in no way constitutes a specific “endorsement” of you or your work, nor a judgment of its merits. Registered Artists are prohibited from claiming any such endorsement or judgment on the part of Songspace, or from otherwise misrepresenting the nature of their relationship to Songspace.
