Richard Middleton is an award-winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, teacher, and writer.
Known for his soulful voice, masterful chops, eclectic influences, and finely crafted songs, Richard is a mainstay of the Seattle singer-songwriter scene. He has performed professionally for nearly 30 years, playing the gamut of clubs, coffee houses, halls and festivals throughout the Northwest. His self-produced debut album, WEB, was released in 2002; a second album is in the works.
Richard is a sought-after sideman (keyboards, guitars, and vocals), arranger, and producer, working with some of the Northwest's most respected independent artists.
He has taught songwriting at Cornish College of the Arts (where he earned a degree in jazz piano in 1989), and teaches privately.
Richard is the author of the guitar instruction book, "Rhythm Guitar Secrets" (available from www.rhythmguitarsecrets.com).
His column, "Inside Music," ran in Victory Review for four years, and continues to attract appreciative readers around the world through the archive on his website. He has also written hundreds of reviews for Victory Review and for SingOut! magazine.
Richard lives in Seattle with his wife and son.
